CITRA PEREMPUAN SUNDA DALAM TARI GENTRA PINUTRI

Abstract

Dance art not only contains textual and contextual values but there are cultural phenomena such as aspects of social position where the figure of Sundanese women traditionally has the task of nature, namely conceiving and giving birth. However, along with social development the role of women has changed by being involved and playing an active role in various fields of life. In addition, there is an aesthetic value that does not only include visual beauty, but includes expression and understanding of art. The purpose of this research is to reveal how Gentra Pinutri dance is not only a place of expression in dance, but also a means as a Sundanese woman to articulate her role in the public sphere of the wider community. This research analyses the image of Sundanese women in Gentra Pinutri dance which is analysed from creative ideas, supporting elements of makeup, fashion, property, musical accompaniment, aesthetic value and how the figure of Sundanese women is related in it. Data collection is done by observation, interview, and documentation. The results showed that the Sundanese Women's Image in Gentra Pinutri dance is reflected in the character of graceful, persistent, tough, agile, has the skills and desire to achieve her desires which are interpreted in the semantic prosody of the word Mojang which is a dynamic woman. The image of Sundanese women in Gentra Pinutri dance shows the figure of Sundanese women who today have innovation in their desire to achieve their dreams, not only showing their beautiful appearance but also their skills.
